We got a camper!

At some point in 2010 we decided it would be a great idea to own a camper. We also thought it would be great to get something a little older and more vintage. So we got a 1971 17' Frolic Camper.

Our little camper blog will document the things we've done to restore it and most importantly all the fun things our family will do in it and with it!

With camping season almost here, it's almost time to roll it out for the very first time. I'll post some before and after pics real soon.

We're pumped to share our little project and all the fun.

  1. HI,
We are looking to restore a 1971 Frolic. Asking price is $900 unrestored. Looks like it needs tires, some body work, new door, but the bones are good. How much did you pay to restore yours and did you do all the work yourself?

Appreciate any direction you can give me and my hubby.

  2. I paid $800 for mine plus it had some materials in it too! Sounds like you are in the right ball park. I did it all myself in about 6 months, Nov - May.

Water damage and frame rust are worth keeping your eyes peeled for. Though remember most 40 year old trailers will have rusty frames, you just don't want so much that it compromises the structural integrity of the trailer.

I think patience is the most important key! There's a lot of cleaning, scrubbing and an endless list of little things (depending on it's condition)

If you want more info, you can send me an email at the address in my profile. Would love to see your camper and hear your project develops.

    1. Hi hodgesb1, I just purchased a '76 Frolic. I haven't found much info online either, but perhaps we should get together something online for us Frolicees? :-) Check out my camper's blog at: http://76frolic.blogspot.com
