The Outside

The outside of the camper was definitely a very rewarding part of the project and perhaps my favorite.  I really like how it looks and loved finding some original Frolic logo decals as well as putting out little families initials on the bumper.

Outside projects included . . .
Repair and seal some seams
Reseal some windows (a little water was coming inside!)
Scrape rust off of frame
Grease and pack axle bearings (only one side so far -  the other side the nuts are rusted stuck, so will need to take it some big guns to get them off.)
Paint roof, body and frame
new tail and clearance lights for the back end plus a little trailer wiring magic!

Enjoy the pics!

  1. Hi, what type and brand of paint did you use for your Frolic? How has it held up? Did you brush or spray it?

    Thanks!

    1. Sam, Sorry I didn't respond sooner to your question. I actually brushed on oil based Rustoleum paint. It worked very well except for where there was bare metal and it should have been primered. It has since been primered and repainted and is looking great.

      Here's the product - http://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-Professional-1-gal-Almond-Gloss-Protective-Enamel-2-Pack-7770402/204792844?cm_mmc=shopping-_-googleads-_-pla-_-204792844&ci_sku=204792844&ci_gpa=pla&ci_src=17588969

  2. Hello! We have a 69 Frolic (we think!! no markings!) Where LOVE the paint job. We have cherry red Jeep for towing and are thinking about a similar color scheme. Where did you find the labels/decals? Any info you're willing to share is appreciated.

  3. Thanks Pamela! I got the sitcker/decal from an ebay seller 'stickercraze' who is no longer active. I recently tried to contact them to get more and was not successful at all.

I ended up using - https://www.carstickers.com/vinyl-lettering/ - and picking a font similar to that of the Frolic logo. Hope that helps.

    Happy Camping!

  4. Hi! I recently purchased a 71 frolic. I'm having a hard time finding the vin number. I have found some numbers on the tongue of the trailer but I'm not sure what sequence or how many numbers I should be looking for.
